Anthony Edwards Should Make Bumper Stickers

Anthony Edwards Should Make Bumper Stickers
(Oprah voice) And you get dunked on, and you get dunked on, and you get dunked on! (Image credit: Sportscenter on Twitter)

If you've spent any significant amount of time in New England, odds are you've seen the ubiquitous bumper sticker, "This Car Climbed Mt. Washington." It's one of the most brilliant pieces of marketing collateral going. At this point, Anthony Edwards should make similar stickers that read "I got dunked on by Anthony Edwards." He could have a ball boy or assistant coach keep a stack of them on the sidelines, and hand them out after each body he catches. Tonight, he sent home the Houston Rockets home with two thunderous dunks.

The first was the most important:

I mean, just look at the joy:

Let's check in on the T'Wolves announcers:

Keep in mind, these are the dudes who watch every single moment of every single Timberwolves game, and they're still going nuts. Because that dunk is nuts! And he does this all the time. In fact, he did it on the very next play!

On the first dunk, you can see Jalen Green make a business decision and let Jabari Smith Jr. catch that body, but on this play, Green needed to challenge. Didn't work out for him.

The reaction shot was so quick I couldn't even get a clear screen grab, ha.

The two dunks made a three-point game a seven-point game, and effectively ended things. It wasn't exactly a sparkling game for Edwards. Before those two dunks, he was 3-for-13 from the field, and did most of his work at the line, where he was 11-for-11. He had as many turnovers as assists (three each). I didn't watch most of this one, as I was watching Knicks vs. Heat, but I switched over in time for those two dunks. I'm glad I did!

Edwards has made a habit of this. He even is making highlights at the rim when he's not dunking:

I don't know if the Wolves are going to make noise in this year's playoffs. Between Karl Anthony Towns' injury and the current unpredictability of the West seeding, it's hard to say anything definitively about their chances this postseason. But I can definitively say that I love watching Anthony Edwards. He's worth the price of admission all by himself, and I believe he's going to leave a lasting mark on the NBA. There are few, if any, non-Celtics that I enjoy watching as much as him. It's basically just him and Marcus Smart, and sadly, Marcus has had a forgettable season.

I Won The Triple Crown in My Fantasy League

I know the rules – no one cares about your fantasy team. But I just won the triple crown in my league – 1) regular-season head-to-head record, 2) regular-season points, and 3) playoff championship bracket – and just wanted to brag about it to someone. Indulge me for a second, because this won't ever happen again. Just take a look at my final roster in descending order by points/game:

  • Damontas Sabonis
  • Jayson Tatum
  • Bam Adebayo
  • Nikola Vucevic
  • Damian Lillard
  • Pascal Siakam
  • Kristaps Porzingis
  • Desmond Bane
  • Jalen Williams (the good one)
  • Tobias Harris
  • Derrick White
  • Anfernee Simons
  • Daniel Gafford
  • Nick Richards
  • Bench guys: Dillon Brooks, Bruno Fernando, Vasilije Micic, Cameron Payne, Richaun Holmes

I also had Trae Young, but had to drop him during the playoffs, because he was eating up an injured reserve spot that I needed. I wasn't going to be able to keep him next year, anyway.

This seems like it must be a shallow league, but it's not – it's a 14-team league with 16 roster spots and another three IR spots. I got this amazing roster by trading almost all of my draft picks for next year, so next year is going to be ugly. I've figured out that I can keep D White and Bane, but doing so means that I won't make a single pick until the eighth round of the draft, and eight of my 13 draft picks will be in the 13th-16th rounds. Talk about going all in! But it was a super fun fantasy season. It doesn't happen often, and I put myself in position to go for it by nailing my draft. I had extra picks too, so in the first seven rounds I got Tatum, Vucevic, Adebayo, Porzingis, Williams, Gafford, Simons, Harris, and White. Not one of those picks failed. The closest that one came to working out was Simons, but he was at least serviceable. All of these guys played almost the whole season, too. And in addition, I had Bane kept in the 14th round, which was gigantic.

Anyway, thanks for indulging me. It's fun to win.
